Why use a temporary number for Vertex
A disposable non-VoIP number is the safest way to verify Vertex: you avoid SIM-swap exposure, keep your primary number off Vertex's servers, and can spin up additional accounts for business, testing or travel. Free public numbers are usually already burned — a dedicated number from VoIPStore is fresh and high-deliverability.
Vertex in China — FAQ
Can I receive Vertex SMS with a China non-VoIP number?
Yes — our China (+86) numbers are real, non-VoIP mobile lines that Vertex accepts for SMS verification. They have high deliverability and are not on the blocked VoIP lists Vertex screens for.
How long does the China number stay active?
Long enough to receive your Vertex code — usually up to ~20 minutes. It's a one-time number for the verification, not a recurring rental.
What happens if the Vertex code never arrives?
The order expires and the China number is auto-refunded to your balance. You only ever pay for numbers that successfully deliver a code.
Do I need to be in China to use the number?
No. You can order a China number from anywhere in the world and receive the Vertex SMS in your VoIPStore dashboard.
